Powered by just 350W, it is made from solid FIR Coating and will heat to surface temperatures between 75 - 95°C. We advise that you mount this beautiful heater on a wall for the best spread of heat across a 4 – 7m² surface area. Protected with an IP54 rating, it will not be affected by splashes of water and is powered by your 230v mains input. Finish with your choice of either a white, silver or black frame. How Does Infrared Work? As with any new technology, there will be some uncertainty as to how it works and Infrared is no exception. Compared to standard forms of heating, it is vastly different and works on completely different principles. Standard gas or electric convection heaters work by filling up with hot water. This will then, in turn, make the air around it hot and cause it to rise. Once it begins to cool, this air will fall and this process creates a cycle we call a ‘convection current’. When you pass through it, you will feel its warmth. Infrared, however is completely different. By emitting Far IR rays, these will then bounce around the space and hit into objects or people. Once hit, the target will absorb some of that heat and then re-emit what is leftover back into the space for this process to continue. The key differentiation is that IR units heat objects instead of the air, making them highly efficient. This also means you can start using the 4 new features straight away. With the Automated Temperature Control, the panel will switch on and off in order to maintain a chosen temperature. You can also use the 7-Day Timer to set different on/off times for weekdays and weekends for warmer lie-ins. It doesn’t stop there. Use the Adaptive Start to have the unit wake up early to work up to a goal temperature for a chosen time. Finally, active the Open Window Detection to have the panel switch off automatically when it senses a drop in temperature. Take Control Taking full control of your heating is a great way to ensure you are being as eco-friendly and pinching as many pennies as possible. Use the bundled remote or an external thermostat to regulate the temperature, features and power. Use a plug-in thermostat, like the Electronic Plug-in Thermostat with 24 Hour Control, for discreet but simple temperature control.
