I love it as a fan of the dark souls game. Ive alrdy invested so many hours into it after only a week of having it. Although theres one problem. I had miss prints with mine :( the ONLY reason its not 5 stars. Im definitely getting another set hopefully when i get enough money for it. I love the board game and my friends love it too, the difficulty is also there! Genuinely great adaptation.

In comparison to the original core set, there are a lot of things that I prefer in this edition. I like the way that the Firelink Shrine is designed, being in a nice straight line, and the upkeep phase during players activations, allowing the rest of your party move one node on your turn. Overall, games night has been a lot of fun lately thanks to this game.

Like the original, very fun once players understand how to play. Setting up and teaching can be overwhelming.

Good quality for the miniatures. However, I noticed that the difficulty of the game has decreased slightly compared to the very first release, I would have preferred a high level of challenge. Overall still a great atmospheric game and the gameplay is always great. A note on shipping: I would have liked to be notified by email when the package was ready to be shipped.

I bought both new core sets together to complete my set (I was a kickstarter backer who had literally all of the sets released). I played through a single campaign that used every part of this game, three teams of three characters and one solo tackling all mini bosses, then all main bosses, then all mega bosses. The two core set bosses were played with their own encounter card types, and I thought they brought a breath of fresh air to their parts of the campaign. They were noticeably easier than the base game and original expansions, so my solo Herald tackled them (with regular red phantom invasions and white phantom friendly summons for the main bosses). In my specific setup, was really fun! I didn't use the new character dashboards, as I prefer the original.
