Hi Verity , Yes you bought a clay stamp, made for clay using it with an ink pad to transfer ink will not work, it would be a miracle if it worked! We have plenty of rubber stamps if you need to transfer ink and happy to offer you a discount if you purchased the wrong item by mistake.
