Hi Michelle
Please read the instructions carefully but in short:
1. Plug the device into an electrical outlet
2. Hold the large S (power button) on the lid for 2 seconds - with a little pressure - the 3 minute cleaning mode will activate (white light)
3. Tap the button again if you want to move up to the 5 minute cleaning mode (blue light)
4. Either let the cycle complete for auto-turn off or if you need to stop please hold the button again for 1.5 seconds

I assume that the the UV function works well and I've used the tablets that came with it once. I'm still experimenting with those.
