Integration of sonarworks into UAD really pushes the correction to the next level. The details are just much clearer and overall every aspect of the sound improved.

I'm a believer in the Sonarworks room correction software to begin with. But this add-on, which runs the correction within the DSP of my Apollo x6, is a game-changer for my workflow. No more toggling between linear phase and zero latency, or between monitor and headphone curves. (The headphone curve is resident on the headphone output of my Apollo.) No more having to remember to disable Sonarworks when I bounce a mix. Offloading the processsing to the Apollo improves the efficiency of my CPU. And, somehow, it seems to sound "better." (UAD says this is because of the integration with the filters in their hardware.) I've got a Gen 1 Apollo, and had to pay extra for the add-on when I upgraded from Reference 4. That was a bit of a surprise, but I got over it. I'm very happy with the product.

I love this software- I've been waiting for this kind of hardware implementation for so long, and it works wonderfully and sounds impeccable. The only workflow issue I have is the way different profiles are sent to the device: after spending time mixing with one setting, near the end of a mix a like to do fairly quick reference with different presets. This is now a little cumbersome, with added clicks required (compared to the none hardware-hosted version)- what was 1 click to change references is now three clicks, and that gets a little annoying (select profile, Apply profile to Apollo X, Profile applied successfully/DONE). The last two steps surely are not necessary- rather an appropriate pause from the UI stating 'sending', then 'upload complete'. I don't want to click windows for what should be an automated part of the process. That is the only issue though. Everything is as advertised and sounds wonderful- to my ears better than the computer hosted version, though that may I suppose be my imagination, as I am not A/B-ing the two directly. Regardless, I highly recommend Sonarworks' Apollo Monitor Correction!

Im sad that there is no way to change headphone calibration curves in UAD console without opening soundID and transferring the settings. This has to be done every time you change headphones.. Should be a dropdown menu in the headphones part of console.. maybe something Sonarworks can notch UAD to fix..

I love the Monitor Correction. I do believe pricing is too high for what it does. But it was essential upgrade to my workflow personally.

The ability to have the corrections integrated in my UAD Apollo is a game changer. There is not that much to say. Great to not have the plugin in Cubase.

having the Add-on running in the backgound all the time, gets you used to the room correction. you do not have to think about if its running or not and your ears get used to the corrected room sound.
