The sound is very flat and translates across most systems. It's so easy to use and I can't imagine using it now.

Great product. Easy to install and set up. Straight away I could tell the sound was more balanced through my headphones. My only regret is I didn't purchase sooner.

Sonarworks’s SoundID Reference has forever changed the way I produce and listen to music. I can’t listen without it. I thought I was getting the full experience with my headphones, but I now know I was always listening to an inferior version limited by the physical characteristics of my headphones. It was as if I had my ears covered all my life, and I only just now opened them. I can actually hear what my music sounds like as I produce it and no longer need to worry about how it truly sounds since I always struggled with trying to balance the mix for different listening environments. Music sounds fuller and delicious to my ears as if I got prescription glasses for my ears. I also like that the interface isn’t convoluted and gets to the point of what I want. I was impressed with the decision to include a headroom limiter and level adjustment for the output. I didn’t know I would have needed it, but when I did it was there. However, despite all the positive things it has brought, I have one issue that really does interrupt my flow when producing music or listening to music. There will be tiny “skips” in the audio it outputs. Usually if I am downloading or just using the internet on the same computer, it creates that audio glitch, and it is very noticeable. It really ruins the experience. The only quick solution that solves it partially for me is by increasing its process priority in the terminal; doing this eliminates most of the glitches but not completely. Perhaps my computer is too old (10 year old iMac) for the software and is struggling to catch up with all the audio processing. Oh well. I’m glad I discovered SoundID because it truly changed my preferred method of listening to music and working with audio for the better. I recommend it to anyone looking to get more out of their “pro” headphones.

It certainly lived up to my expectations. Not only in making it easier to judge my mixes, but also understanding the profile of my headphones.

I downloaded the SoundID trial after finding that one pair of my headphones was in the profile list. I was immediately surprised and delighted at the way it clarified the soundstage for mixing. I felt able to make mixing decisions with greater confidence. I have chosen to purchase only the headphones SoundID product at this stage, but I will certainly consider upgrading to the full product with calibrated microphone in the future.
