I heard of Sonaworks products for headphone correction years ago, and I tried some earlier version back then (it was recommended as the best EQ correction software). I really didn't have a use for it until recently when I started producing music again and mixing on headphones was my only option. After doing more research to see if Reference was still the best product (needless to say: it was at least for my headphones: AKG K702 and Sennheiser HD380). Luckily SoundID Reference was on sale on Black Friday, and I jumped in and bought it. Very easy to use! Great selection of headphones. I love that I can use it both system-wide and as a plugin.... Also love the translation check feature!

Haven't used the plug yet for mixing, but I notice that it has adjusted the problem frequencies in my headphones. Feels like a good product. "Something completely different" In the system there should be a hearing test so that a person with slight hearing defects can adjust the plug's volume on frequencies that are problematic for the person. Now it is perfectly adjusted for perfect hearing.

More accurate results could be obtained by maximizing the correction of the headphones.

I don't know how I made music without it, it's the first thing I add when starting a new track!

Seems to be a good first step on the way to a balanced monitoring situation. I'm really happy having found out about SoundID reference! Sometimes I need to reload the headphones preset for it to work properly. Other thing I realized is it lowers the output significantly when "safe headroom" is checked. I'm still getting used to working with it but overall having a good experience!

I can't believe the difference in my headphones while mixing, it really helped me get my low end under control. Car test and HiFi test sound so much better. Thx Sonarworks!

As a student it's difficult to afford a whole Atmos Monitor System, so for an app that allows you to correct the freq response of your headphones to really know what's going on with what you're working, I think it's a must have tool.
