Following a trial period, I was convinced that Sound ID Reference for Headphones would be an important addition to my studio - as I do most of my work using headphones. I strongly recommend this plugin as it provides a flat response foundation - and then, using the various presets and custom settings, a quick way to assess how a mix/master will sound in a variety of settings.

I bought the Beyer DT990 because my 7 year of use with the DT770 made me choose an open back Headphones.. But testing it for a while I found there were some disappointments in the frequency spectrum of the 990, for mixing mostly. SO I tested and bought the Sonarworks reference ID for phones. And was very pleased withe th results for my DT990. Way more flat response and less annoying frequencies. Now I am convinced I can use my new DT990 for mixing. I have the plugin installed in my ConttrolRoomof Cubase 12 and it will always stay activated. Great Tool!

Due to various constraints, I have to do much of my mixing on headphones whether I like it or not. Sonarworks Reference does an excellent job of levelling out the response curve of my various headphones and I can really tell the difference. The curves seem to do an excellent job, and the choice of headphones is better than other options I have tried. It even includes my AKG 275s which I use alongside my AKG 702s. The option to create custom profiles or use the various presets is very useful and a great feature to have and the interface is very clear and simple. Reference is now used on every project.

As I was used to work on my music with a pair of low budget speakers, SoundID Headphones has been a game changer for me! I do use it in every session and since I got used to listen to music through SoundID, I can tell I really have improved my music production! I don’t regret my purchase at all.

With being limited to headphone usage most of the time this has been the best thing for me. My mixes are so much better than just using headphones alone a lot clearer and louder in a good way.
