“This is a detailed review, so sit tight and come along. Let's start talking about the looks. This case is very stylish and feels premium on my hand, passing for authentic leather very easily. The stitching looks high quality and the product has a nice finish. The box in which the product came was absolutely superb; one of the nicest phone case boxes I've ever seen and it gave me great joy unboxing the item. I'm not too sure on how well the leather will stand the test of time though, as I've been using it for a few weeks and there are already some significant marks from normal everyday wear. I'm also worried about the leather in the dark section where the case bends open from normal overtime wear, as I'm already noticing significant creasing. The burgundy seems quite a bit darker than the original picture on the website, which to me wasn't a problem as I quite like darker tones but I can see how some people could get annoyed by it. The website also mentions that the case "ages beautifully" and I'm not quite sure what it means by that, as I haven't had it for a long enough time. However I do notice that the matt finish seems a bit faded already which worries me slightly as I believe a glossier look could make this premium looking product feel more tacky. The logos on the case are very non intrusive and work well with its style. Overall I'm very impressed by the appearance of this case and definitely think its one of the strongest aspects of this product. There are some flaws with this case however... due to the design of the S8 and this case being rather bulky, reaching the fingerprint scanner at the back is quite uncomfortable as there is a significant level change from the case to the phone. The "stand up" feature of the case where you can lay it on the side and it offers a slant to lean your phone works well most of the time, but the magnetic clasp that closes the case tends to get in the way of the screen pretty much everytime, meaning that it can be quite annoying when trying to watch something. The "wallet" section of this case works to a certain extent. The card slits are quite tight meaning only one card fits in each slit, and the notes slit is extremely tight and uncomfortable to reach to, making me not want to use this. As far as protection goes, I have not done any drop tests but I feel quite confident that the case would hold up and the phone would be safe if it fell whilst closed since no glass would be in contact and the soft leather would absorb any impact making it almost impossible to damage the phone in natural means. If the front of the case was open however, and the phone fell on its face then I'd be less confident as the plastic bit holding the phone doesnt seem to bulge out much from the screen, giving it less protection. The inside leather is quite soft and shouldn't scratch the screen, and though cards will be rubbing on the screen when closed, the soft plastic also shouldn't do any damage to the S8 Corning Gorilla Glass. Overall I am quite happy with this phone case. There are a few functionality flaws, but the look and protection outweigh the problems. At £20, this case definitely feels like it could be priced higher so it's good value for money. 4/5.”
