“The wallet was not the beautiful leather I had purchased (3)in the past. It was a "Suede" leather. Customer service said after I used it for a while it would become the smooth leather I had expected. Seriously????? An exchange was offered........not feeling confident in receiving what I had expected on the first order especially with that really bad explanation of the "suede". Sadly, I will not be ordering from Snakehive this holiday season.”

It's disheartening to hear that the leather did not meet your expectations. We value your feedback, and we're here to make things right. The material used is indeed nubuck leather, not suede. Nubuck leather is known for its unique texture and appearance, and it is normal for it to have a different feel compared to smooth leather. As all of our cases are handmade and hand-dyed using different cuts of natural leather, the finish of each of our cases will vary. Our Black, Navy, Bottle Green & Grey colours may have a softer, suede-like finish, whereas our Chestnut Brown, Teal & Plum colours tend to have a glossier, smoother finish. Nubuck leather is generally thicker than suede, making it more durable over time. While suede has a velvety feel to the touch, nubuck tends to have a texture more akin to traditional leather. Additionally, nubuck is less porous, a feature that might not be immediately apparent but becomes evident in easier maintenance. Through regular use, the top layer of leather will naturally wear down, resulting in a rich and smooth patina finish on the case. The degree of wear will vary depending on individual use, contributing to the distinctive character of each case. We are very sorry to hear you did not want to exchange this for another colour that would have fit your needs more, however, if you do change your mind please do not hesitate to reach out to our customer care team again. “Overall a nice purchase...BUT not without shortcomings. 1st, the size of the glued in transparent phone holder was 1/8 inch OVERSIZED (indeed I have the exact listed phone above). I pulled off the glued insert and replaced/glued my own clear phone protector. Solved THAT problem. 2nd, the magnetic folding clasp...TOO short!! Fixed by leather stretching methods over 2 days to succeed in that process. Have quality control review as both problems are truly avoidable. Lengthen the strap or add/replace with an adjusting type of stretchable quality elastic. Ideally your fine company should respond to me in kind. In the end though, I am pleased.”
