“This is a beautiful product but unfortunately both the first one that was sent and the replacement suffered from a manufacturing fault that leaves sticky residue on the inside of the card slots. That reside attaches to the cards and it is very difficult to slide them in and out. Customer service could not have been more helpful (though the replacement wallet took over a week to arrive) and I have been issued with a full refund, but in honesty I cannot recommend this product.”

“The wallet looks great & does the job. However, the card pockets are maybe a bit tight as it’s difficult to get the cards out. This may ease in time as the leather gets more supple but the cards also end up with a sticky substance on them when pulled out! I guess slightly disappointed.”

“I assumed that when it says genuine leather it is. The case is felt not leather. My invoice came and it says $39.21. I paid $66. Not happy with case at all. I already have a genuine leather Snakehive case and it is leather. This one is not Very unsatisfied”

Hi Janet, Thank you for your review & for your purchase with us, and I'm sorry to hear that you are not happy with the finish of your case! Our Vintage Leather Wallet cases are made from a soft Nubuck leather, which can sometimes be similar to suede at first, and especially when new they will naturally show marks which will add to the character. Primarily, nubuck is thicker than suede, so far more durable. To the touch, suede feels more velvety and nubuck tends to feel a little more like leather. Nubuck also tends to be less porous, which you won’t see at first sight, but you’ll appreciate, as it’s easier to maintain. As all of our cases are handmade and hand-dyed using different cuts of natural leather, the finish of each of our cases will vary. Our Black, Navy, Bottle Green & Grey colours may have a softer, suede-like finish, whereas our Chestnut Brown, Teal & Plum colours tend to have a glossier, smoother finish. Over time and with regular use, the top layer of leather will begin to wear down and the case will develop a rich & smooth patina finish. Wear on each of our cases will vary depending on its use, which will add to the unique character of your case. To clean your case we recommend that you carefully wipe the cover with a nubuck or similar soft cloth using a circular motion. Brush with a nubuck brush to remove dirt and dust. Spray a cloth with a nubuck cleaner, from leather retailers or online, and work well into the leather but do not over saturate the material. Allow to dry thoroughly and then use brush to restore the nap to its original condition. I hope this helps however please do contact us with any further enquiries.
