Smythson Portobello Notebook In Panama In Flamingo Reviews

5 Rating 1 Reviews
Love the Portobello in Panama for taking notes. My notebooks lead a rough life. I bring them everywhere. They get wet, they get smushed, exposed to far too much sunlight, food and beverage spills happen, my children frequently yeet the notebook off the table, etc. Very impressed with its overall durability. I often open the notebook up and bend half of it backwards which puts an enormous amount of strain on the binding. After a year of use the pages are still intact and though the paper lining on the cover is failing, overall the notebook is in decent shape. The leather cleans up easily and beautifully. I appreciate that the Panama leather is flexible. The note page line spacing is a bit wider than I would prefer. The pages themselves hold their integrity very well even after getting wet. Liked it so much for recording notes from various online courses that I purchased a second one recently. I like the size of the ribbon on this notebook much better than the size of the ribbon on the W2. The construction of the ribbon and how it is both sewn and glued to the notebook is a wonderful feature. My four-year old has gripped the ribbon in his tiny little fist and swung the notebook enthusiastically in giant circles in the air without harming the notebook at all! The Portobello ribbon fits neatly between the pages without adding bulk. There aren’t any interior pockets on the Portobello, and that’s unfortunate. The gilding on the pages is holding on for dear life. The personalized embossed lettering is still in perfect condition. An excellent workhorse of a notebook. Phenomenal durability.
