The photos really don't quite convey the tactility of holding such an object - the suppleness of the book, the impossibly thin leather corners, the subtle colour shifts of the gilt-edges as you fan through the pages. The elephant print is distinctive and adds a real touch of joy and whimsy, evoking distant places where adventure awaits. I wish Smythson would make some grid-printed notebooks, now that would make it a 6-star review!”
