“I had already been using jetseal on all my plastics including light units and even my windscreen for the last 6yrs. I know it to be a long lasting product with good UV blocking, as well as water, dirt, bugs repellent. I had researched almost all the latest restore system/kit's. Most are useless/quick fix, with poor performance, limited protection time, often adding more issues for the next time around. Pushing boulders up hill, is time consuming and ridiculous. The Facts are these... You need to remove the old bog standard clear coat used one your paint, yes that's all it is. Lazy huh. UV light breaks down the plastic surface, this destruction is under the clear coat giving a yellow tint, and when the surface is broken grip and micro networks for simple plant life forms, these are green and will not wipe off. The sound coating can stay but must be feathered out. The headlight restorer is very gentle and very difficult, if not impossible to over do it. Note the cream dries out, so spray water, and do not allow heat to build up. Once done to real world standard, the plastic is refreshed with minimal loss, clear coat sound, feathered and clean. Then the whole lot needs a very good UV blocker. That would be Jetseal, it easy to use and reapply in a mere 5 minutes and last 12 months. So what's better than jetseal that you should already be using? All chemical guys products have uv blockers as the company is based in the desert the 12 month's stated is desert time... UK is around 17 to 19 months, but l like to refresh every 11 to 13. Never seen a hole in the wiper zone, even at 13 months. Unlike rain-x which is a pain to apply and 4 months is a stretch. I marked it down because its bite was a little too feeble, it took over 21 minutes per headlight to cut back the damage. I added a well-known clear coat restoration product. This helped a bit, the 3" head with a wool felt pad did the rest of the work. It wasn't pleasant to do, and still took 6 minutes and 7 applications to get a fair finish. I'm being harsh, l wanted new & smooth... But real world... this was better result logically, once its gone, its gone. However the restoration cream really seem to clean, brighten, and condition the plastic back to a new condition. As for the clear coat left, you cannot see it, still doing its job as intended. Easily gotten next time, l predict 25 months. After all the name of the game here is to remove just enough to look good. You can't put plastic back, nor add more clear coat. Yeah you can get a muppet to compound and spray, £50 a light, 2yrs... 26 months you are left with more awful clear coat to remove, that only masked the true issue. Plus how much did they remove? Now its all the cutting compounds out, 2hrs a light. Will l be left with plastic paper, one stone and its gone? Only other method l feel is viable is £110.00 purpose built headlight film, uv blocking, self-healing, very thin, heat tolerant, and very easy to work with due to 4 way stretch. Do not buy from ebay. But you would have to prep the surface to 3500 grit smooth. However you get 10yrs of protection. Then just replace the film. Again that's a loss of material and okay if you have to go that deep. Then it's worth it. Mine was worn on curves only and seemed mechanical, more than sun. As l said l have been using jetseal for 6 years the lights are big, very expensive and 9 yrs old. Just the radius area's were worn. Rest of the coating was in very good condition. At this point preventing is enough. Adding this new restoration cream with a very light impact, It's worth of being used form the 1st year of a car's life, to minor issues with worn clear coat. If the coating has totally gone, the Plastic surface is rough to the nail... This will not do it alone, far to feeble. But compound to 1500 and it might just do its job, putting life back into the plastic.”

“works ok on slightly yellowed lights (using power tools) but sanding would achieve much better results”

“After using a bit of wet and dry this product worked well. In our case the headlights were heavily tarnished so it wasnt quite the wipe and they are gleaming chemical but it was good at finishing the job.”
