“We are a group of 14 female hospital staff aged from early 20's to late 50s. We needed a break. Time to relax and de-stress from a couple of God awful years at work. We couldn't have asked for a better place to do it. The location was private and peaceful. The accommodation was perfect. We had space to be in small groups, all together and nooks and crannys to be alone. We couldn't have asked for more.”

“Shires is the 3rd property we have stayed in from Sleeps 12 and have to say this one most definitely has the wow factor! The whole place has been so well thought out and as for the pool house, it is on another level! The house has been finished to a very high standard and the little extras, such as the coloured lighting makes it that bit extra special. We were a family of 11, stretching from 11-70 and everyone had something to keep them entertained. We will most definitely try and make a return visit here!”

“The whole experience from start to finish was amazzzing .. I read some negative stuff about people not getting money back or things not being sorted etc ( well this is my feedback) . 1 would give 12. / 10 but Form wouldn’t allow me I booked well before Covid hit, sadly had to change Dates from Feb which was my daughters 30 .. to November 1st . I was a bit saddened that I ended up paying more for Nov than I did Feb.. when they are both out of season? .. ( that aside) the whole booking process was easy ,I paid off what I wanted when I wanted, the people at sleeps 12 answered my every email or call very promptly, at no stage did I ever feel, I couldn’t get answers to questions I had, the team were amazing. I booked Monday to Friday at the Shires.. the date finally came around and we finally got to the property. It was just as the photos on the internet, everything was just as, we were amazed at the property. We went around the house with the lovely owner Gary who I have to say was very personable, nothing was too much , though he wasn’t in your face, he showed us what he needed to show us and left saying we could contact him if we needed to know anything, his wife Just the same very pleasant and friendly. We settled in quite quickly, I was main cook, and made use of the 2 ovens in fact 2 of everything in the kitchen , which was fantastic, lots of gadgets, the hob amazed me.. I loved how it worked. (2 toasters would be nice though) The pool, jacuzzi, sauna had the WOW factor for sure me being a lifeguard I Loved it and we were all in it for hours through the day.. the massive dining table was fab all eating together when we wanted to, the cinema room is a bonus, if u want to watch tele. The bedrooms with en suites fabulous and the grounds with the play area seating area and BBQ hut was lush, we were even lucky with weather all out in the day in shorts and tees.. We didn’t want for anything, all tea coffee etc provided which was great.. we did do takeaway on our first night as was easier until we shopped, it was a 20 min drive into Chard for shopping.. a village with every takeaway possible and Tesco and Sainsburys Lidl etc… I want to thank sleeps 12 team for an absolutely amazing booking experience from start to finish,for all the help with booking and after care after booking and also to Gary the owner for making the experience that little bit nicer and friendlier in his home. ( was absolutely fantastic) We have had a conversation since all 11 of us left and we are going to be booking again.. this time I won’t be paying the whole bill it will be split .. ( ha ha) oh one more thing we looked after the place like it was our own .. and within 5 days my security deposit is back in my bank .. Thank you all for what I can only say was one of the best self catering holidays I’ve ever had . ( and I’ve had a few) Kind regards Shirley & Stuart Robinson and family Stay ( 01/11-05/11)”

“The welcome was wonderful, as was the property. All the rooms and facilities were brilliant. It really was a fantastic multi-generational holiday - just what we needed. The pool, hot tub, sauna, games room, alpine cabin were simply wonderful. Everything we needed was there. Everything was spotlessly clean. Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!”
