I use this everyday, just a little in the morning. I have not had a cold sore for a year. It's brilliant. The best thing I've ever found for keeping coldsores away.

Purchased this alongside the lip balm. Of both products I prefer the lip balm for everyday use, but find the gel good if an outbreak occurs (which I must state is far less since using these products). It is a little high in price for me, but that said, having needed to use it less frequently means it does seem to last.

Bought this for my husband as he suffers from cold sores. He had more success with this product than he did with pharmaceutical products. Little pricey but not much is needed so is quite good value for money when you’re paying ££ for typical coldsore creams.

I purchased this and the matching lip balm. I used this first as I prefer the thinner, less greasy texture. I was in a period when I was getting a lot of blisters and within a week of use, I got another blister. It didn't seem to have much effect on day 1 and 2 of the blister. I swapped then to the lip balm and saw a drastic reduction in blister size, and over the coming days, duration. The lip balm has continued to be more effective over time. It's a nice lip salve but not one I will invest in again. For the price, it's a poor purchase. Get the lip balm instead. Although perhaps camping when things can melt in the heat, I may have to use this.

If I feel a cold sore coming on, I alternate between acyclovir and this gel. I find using the gel keeps my lips soft and hydrated, meaning no horrible cracked scabs, which is what happens if I use just the cream. I also use the gel if I think my lips are dry and I could potentially get a cold sore - it then stops one coming, and I now only get one if I accidentally scratch or bang my lip.
