“When you open the package and see and feel this tap for the first time, it oozes quality. It is reassuringly heavy, and the levers and swivel head all have a lovely smooth action. Aesthetically, it is pleasingly simple in design with nice clean lines. All that prevents me from giving it full marks are two niggles that might not affect some potential purchasers. Firstly, because of its three-way design, it cannot accommodate the more common fixing to secure it to the sink. Instead of a clamp with spindle and nut that is easily tightened with a small box spanner, it has a 40mm nut around the outside of the tube that houses the three braids. This would be a cinch if you were installing a new sink, as you could secure it in place before letting the sink into the worktop. With the sink already in situ, it presented much more of a challenge. The other slight niggle is that the nozzle design is such that when the tap is running it is difficult to prevent splashes over the sides even with the head aimed into the centre of the sink. I was advised by Caple that this could be due to there being too much water pressure and that this should be reduced at the boiler. My water supply is low pressure, so this was clearly not the reason in my case. Others might not experience the issues I had and there is no doubt that it is a nice looking well made piece of hardware. Overall I would recommend this product.”

“Chunky and well made tap. I particularly like the mixer on one controller and the filter water on the other. I tried to contact the company but could get no reply, however the tap did eventually arrive.”
