“I've only had this a short time, so I can't review the long-term performance of this sensor. I bought two of these along with the Sonoff leak sensor to monitor pipes in my attic following a leak there.
I'm very impressed by the sensitivity of the sensor combined with the add-on cables. I placed it on the attic floor where the leak was, and arranged the cables in a zig-zag pattern to cover as much of the floor area as possible. If it isn't obvious from the product description, the idea is that water anywhere along the length of the cable at any point will trigger the sensor The water was all dried up by that point but the floor felt very slightly damp to the touch. The dampness was so slight that I didn't imagine it would be enough to set the sensor off. But about 2 hours after installing it, I started getting notifications of a leak. There was no new leak - it just turned out that even that slight dampness was enough to slowly wick up into the sensor cable and set it off. A few hours blowing a fan on it and it's now registering "dry". With these cables, you don't need a pool of liquid water to set it off, even a slightly damp bit of plasterboard will be enough.”
