“Another excellent Pimoroni product, so much more capable than its predecessor. Its essentially everything more I wanted out of the Tufty2040, and then some! Found that you want it in mass storage mode to run code from Thonny, not just for transferring files - the new run() system can cause some problems when trying to run code outside of mass storage mode. The only thing I don't like about this one is the squishy buttons. Clicky buttons offer audio and tactile feedback with no code required, squishy buttons offer ambiguity and uncertainty. Only my opinion though so still giving 5*”
“Exactly as advertised! Quality I’ve expected from having ordered other pimoroni hardware. Was able to make a Stocks app for USA market. GitHub makes it easy to share my code.”
“I loved my Tufty. I am quite new to coding for hardware, and badgeware is the perfect starting point which can also extend quite a lot. The build quality is great. it feels solid on hand, has a great design.
From the software side, MicroPython setup is just very comfortable to get used to. I had some experience with immediate mode ui tools, so I felt right at home with this SDK. It ships with just right amount of built in libraries, so you can do whatever you want, and make them good looking.
About the STEM Kit: They work as expected. I could easily connect and verify them with the demo apps. My only recommendation would be, I wish there was a place to attach the sensors or gamepad, so they dont dangle around.
So, I rate Badgeware Tufty very good(5), because I can't find any reason to cut points.”
