“I bought this via Kickstarter. It is exactly the case I have been looking for to take my sailing boat autopilot up to the next level. The touch screen is easy to program with guizero and eliminates my first prototype's 6 buttons, 6 potentiometers, bit-banging chip and switch. And the case has plenty of room for the motor controller, gyro-compass and GPS boards... the deeper back to the case even more so! An important feature of the SmartiPi Pro case is that the power lead comes out from the side not the bottom like the old "official" 7in touch screen case. The case is beautifully moulded and very durable. "The devil is in the detail" and these have been clearly thought-through with lots of options (eg Pi 3B+ and 4) and surplus hardware. In terms of value, you get a largish case with lots of plastic for your money. In short, I think this case is a very welcome addition to the Raspberry Pi market. It now makes me want to re-house my highly-functional chart plotter (which used the old "official" 7in touch screen case and was based on OpenCPN), the real economic benefit of which came in much cheaper charts. But perhaps I will wait for the white plastic version of the SmartiPi Pro Case to come out. In short, I do see this case as a top quality housing, and certainly suitable for many commercial products based on the Raspberry Pi.”
