“I really wanted to love this little Logic Analyzer - it's very small and neat and can easily be connected to individual chip pins to allow monitoring of i2c - or so I thought. I downloaded the requisite software (ScanaSuite) but immediately ran into weird UI scaling and font problems that rendered the display either with text so small as to be unreadable or boxes that flicker and vanish when you try to move the mouse. My PC is just a standard Windows 10 Dell laptop, so I'm struggling to work out why I'm having these problems.
I tried emailing the support email address and tried posting on the company's forum but neither elicited a response, so as of now the little SQ200 is relegated to a corner of the cupboard and I have to lug out the bench oscilloscope any time I want to debug an i2c issue.
The few times I did manage to get it to trigger properly (more or less clicking blind or using keyboard shortcuts, it did seem to work - it displayed active devices on the bus and managed to capture a conversation or two, but until the display problem is fixed the device is in no way usable for me.
UPDATE: Sorry, I should have been clearer in my review. My attempts at getting support were from the manufacturer (IKA Logic), nor from Pimoroni. I've never had a bad customer experience with Pimoroni; every time I've contacted them they have replied quickly and fixed whatever problem I had. I went directly to the manufacturer for support as it seems to be a software problem and I didn't think Pimoroni would be able to help me with this.”
Ahoy Paul! Sorry to hear you've been having problems - we can't find any emails from you so please can you email us again at support@pimoroni.com if you've been trying to get in touch with us?
“An excellent piec of equipment that offers in a small package functionality that would ordinarily occupy a large amount of your work area and seriously deplete your bank balance!
An excellent choice for the "serious" hobbyist.”
