“Works great. Although it's called "Lua based", I used the standard Arduino IDE to code a standard Arduino-style sketch for it. Onboard LED is nice and bright, fits really snug onto a standard breadboard (leaving one space on each side), wifi works quite well. I had various "attach some buttons and LEDs to simple APIs" projects running on raspberry pi zeros, and the NodeMCU is a much better fit with faster boot, no OS to maintain, and no need to hook up a display and keyboard for initial setup.”
