“I wanted to be able to access the GPIO pins on my pi 5 when using a NVMe hat. The pi M.2 hat allowed me to do this by providing enough space to fit extra long pins, which passed through the hat enabling a ribbon cable and a GPIO extension board to be used. Other NVMe kits I loqdjff at did not provide this access.”
“I was expecting difficulties or snags ... but it was like cutting butter with a hot knife ... I had libreELEC up and running in less than a few minutes! ... For ease of use .. this is the nvme hat to use”
“The NVMe pi hat makes a huge difference. If you are looking for rapid boot times, NAS or folding then you need this NVMe hat.
Installation was very easy and set up afterwards was simple.”
“It's fine and does well exactly what it is supposed to do. The odd thing about it is that it attaches to and blocks all of the GPIO pins, even though it uses none of them except for power, but doesn't provide any through pins on top to add another HAT, which seems an obvious thing to do. The PCIe ribbon cable is only just long enough to reach over the active cooler so it would not be possible to put a header under it with what is provided in the box.”
