“At last - a Pi camera that is really easy to interface to things like tripods, microscopes and telescopes. Fantastic! And fits very neatly onto the back of the Pibow too:

“This new camera worked flawlessly in my application, allowing me to use adjustable zoom lenses on my Raspberry Pi based Amateur TV transmitter at last.”
“Big step up from the Pi Camera v2.1
Good video quality and very good still image quality at this price.
It’s better dynamic range gives improved low light performance with much lower noise.
Tripod mount very convenient.
I’ve been hoping for a better camera from Raspberry Pi org for some time and once again they have provided good balance between performance and price.
Also good prompt service from Pimoroni as always.
As a quick test for video streaming I used:-
On the PI terminal:
raspivid -t 0 -l -o tcp://0.0.0.0:3333
On another computer with the VLC app:
File > Open Network and for URL type:-
tcp/h264://:3333”
