If you go for low power consumption and text mode programming only, this is the best way forward. You do not need to worry about overheating, even with the memory stacked on top of the processor and the board sitting inside a plastic case. From X point of view, this board did not age gracefully. A single core 1GHz processor with 500MB RAM is simply not enough even for web browsing if you use the latest Raspberry OS for Desktop. I intend to use this device as a micro-controller for a small project, so it is not a problem at all. I can do all the Python programming on another Raspberry Pi and then do the final tests on this one. And for a device that will be running continuously, low power consumption will be the real clincher.

A great little device, almost as cheap as a microcontroller but stuffed full with soooo much more possibility. Want to add object tracking to an Arduino-based project? This little device fills the gap between 8-bit controller and full blown ARM7 Linux computer just nicely!

I still can't believe that it can do everything it can do at such a low price.

I am using it for a HDMI output on a Amiga A500+. With a 512 Mb card the file is only 30 Mb. All I had to do was solder the headers onto the GPIO. To fit the adaptor on the Dense chip socket.
