“The Pi 5 is a monumental improvement over it's predecessors. I've used a Pi 3, and it could handle 3 websites simultaneously at best. Currently, on my Pi 5, I have 14 Chrome tabs open, and yet it is still more responsive than my Pi 3 with only 1 webpage open!
However, there are 2 things to be wary of:
1) you need a micro-HDMI cable - the HDMI cables used on previous Pi's will not work.
2) Clicking the scroll wheel pastes what was on your clipboard, instead of allowing you to scroll/move around webpages/documents/images by moving your mouse (a function that can be found on Windows devices). I used a mouse that carries out the scroll function on my laptop, yet it still pastes when the scroll wheel is clicked on the Pi.”
“Fast dispatch and delivery from Pimoroni. Great uplift in performance relative to the Raspberry Pi 4 that it is replacing. I've stuck with RPi because the platform is robust and the Raspberry Pi OS is well maintained. It has moderate energy consumption relative to N100 mini PC, so it is more economical to run 24/7. I had to separately buy RTC battery box from ebay because Pimoroni do not appear to sell these - Pimoroni, please can you stock these? Pimoroni service is very good on the rare occasions I needed it - consequently they are my first choice when I want to buy anything Raspberry Pi related.”
“A great improvement to the Raspberry Pi lineup. Works well booting from an NVMe SSD running a server without a GUI / Desktop or when running Pi OS with a desktop.”
“I recently purchased the Raspberry Pi 5, and it was delivered incredibly fast. The improvements over the Raspberry Pi 4 are significant, with a faster CPU, enhanced GPU, and better connectivity. The setup is even more user-friendly thanks to the Raspberry Pi Imager app, making it an outstanding upgrade. Highly recommended!”
