This was the first add-on I bought for my Raspberry Pi and had to search around first before settling with Pimoroni. The service was very quick and was one of the cheapest around. With it being my first time with a add on it took some time to connect the camera to the pi! With the benefit of receiving camera mount it protects the camera and also stands it up! Fully enjoying messing around with the camera and certainly worth the money. I'd recommend buying the camera and also from Pimoroni.

When I took the blue thing that came with the NoIR camera I was a bit confused. Didn't need to dig deep to know that's a filter I can use to block UV light. Speccially interesting when checking plants health (Clorophile reflects green and IR light). Its sensibility is quite high. It makes a "hot red" thing to bright at the image, I was surprised by how many IR are emitted by a cigarette's end.

Everyone thinks with that camera in hands: "I can hide this tiny Full HD video camera anywhere". What could we do with a camera? A surveillance device like CCTV Kit (Recommended), a "remote eye" for a robot or drone, a remote peephole... For less than a friday party this is a masterpiece everyone must have.

It should go without saying, but for raspberry noobies with a zero like me, this camera won't work out of the box with the raspberry pi zero. It requires a narrower cable that's sold separately here. Just my 2 cents, still haven't tried the camera, but I'm hearing good things about it.

I ordered this camera module on the day it was released and Pimoroni got it to me the next day. So far i have done some testing and the image looks good (I don't have the old camera module so cant comment on how the quality has changed.) The stand is quite simple but it does its job and keeps the camera a little safer and makes pointing it in the correct direction easier. Overall would recommend it.
