“Exactly as expected. Definitely runs hot as reported by most reviews (quite warm just booting up and sitting for a minute). definitely recommend a heat sink if you are going to run it at full load for several minutes at a time, or a fan if you are going to run it at full load for longer.”
“I'm using the new RPi as a NAS (with OpenMediaVault) and it's as good as it seemed to be. Enough power and RAM for lots of services. Plex server can handle transcoding up to FHD quite flawlessly (4k isn't possible yet, maybe with some overclocking and some drivers optimisation).
Before that I tried Raspbian and Openelec. Kodi works really fast and the desktop was surprisingly fluid, well, it's not a speedster but it can certainly be used as backup computer or even the main computer for people with light use (I was even able to play FHD full screen Youtube videos unlike some reviews on the net said).
Anyway, very happy for a 55 £ computer!”
