“After struggling with older models of the Raspberry Pi I decided to upgrade to the Pi 4. It was a revalation - coupled with a reasonably fast Micro SD card this little board gives me a nicely interactive little Linux computer. I don't really need the dual 4k monitor outputs but being able to open multiple windows without delays and even play back h265 videos is great. I was also able to transfer files from a HDD connected to the USB 3.0 port at pretty much the same speed as I can to my old macbook.
I highly recommend this product to anyone who wants to use the Raspberry Pi as a general purpose desktop-based computer. If you are designing a dedicated or embedded system then you may not need all the extra power and performance but the cost is pretty much the same so why not go for the Pi 4?
One word of warning though - the main processor does get hot so you should also buy a heatsink - or better still, get a case which acts as a heatsink.”
