“Works great when used to remplace an established Pi zero in a project requiring wifi that used to work with an external wifi dongle in a headless configuration. I just removed the SD card from my already configured Pi zero and plugged it in the Pi zero W and it boots just fine. I was expecting troubles (especially in headless...) but it all works great and I could login using ssh via wifi. The Pi zero W seems to draw around 2W booting and 1W when not much is happening. With fine to medium wifi signal quality and running MJPG-Streamer using a raspicam (CPU < 10%) it still draws around 1.5W for me.”
“This is an amazingly cheap computer (esp. from Pimoroni) Mine was installed in a MMDVM digital Ham radio hotspot kit. The two tricky bits were soldering the two headers and then programming the codeplug for my hand held radio. My first call for a radio check from my back garden in Halesowen resulted in a 5.9 from a fellow Ham in Holland. I was delighted. Took me back to the days when we built stuff and programmed for fun and to learn. 73's from G1KII”
