“It's only slightly cheaper than the Raspberry Pi 2 W which is much more recent and more powerful. So check carefully that you really mean to buy this older version. The Zero 2 W features a quad-core 1GHz 64-bit ARM Cortex-A53 processor and Bluetooth 4.2, while the original Zero W has a single-core 1GHz 32-bit ARM11. I suppose I should have done more research and looked more carefully!”
“I’m very satisfied with the Raspberry Pi Zero W!
It’s a compact and well-built little board that still works great for many lightweight projects. The build quality and reliability are excellent, as always with Raspberry Pi.
However, the processor is getting a bit old, and not all modern software runs smoothly on it anymore. Still, it’s a fantastic choice for simple or embedded applications!”
“Nice little device. I use these (and the larger 3A+) as Second Processors on the TUBE system for the BBC Micro and Master 128, to give extra speed and memory in a Host/Slave setup. The guys that have written the firmware for this are amazing, and it works very well. You can also use the HDMI output for an extra display for even faster graphics and more colours than the original machine could ever produce.”
“Great wee devine this if your looking for a small homer project to do. Mine will hopefully be a small train app that I can use to check if my trains are cancelled.”
