“The issue with this plug, isn't so much of the plug, but the App required to actually use it. Had I known what the app would be like, eWeLink, I would never have bought the plugs.
It first requires you to grant it permissions to access photographs and contacts, without it, you cannot use the app! What does an app controlling a plug require need to have access to photographs, I'll never know. Then when setting it up on the Wifi, you have to enable location services?? Why would you want to enable location services again for a plug that will be used in a house or garage etc. Then it couldn't use my Wifi due to the two Wifi networks sharing the same SSID (that way, it comes down to device compatiability as to which one gets used). It wanted me to change the SSID of either or both of the Wifi networks, which would then require me to amend every Wifi device in the house.
I'm hoping to be able to send these back and exchange for a ZigBee version, refund or simply credit.”
