This little kit was just what I was looking for to turn a Raspberry Pi into a dedicated ATMega328P programmer. A simple modification I would suggest; is to replace the supplied IC socket with a ZIF (zero insertion force) type as this makes it much easier to insert and remove programmed chips.

“I'm fairly inexperienced with Arduino in general and bought this kit mostly to improve my soldering skills. The instruction videos were excellent and I never felt unsure what to do next. I didn't have a sponge as shown in the video but I used a bit of white-tack to hold things in place which may or may not be a good idea but it worked for me. I was glad to have a fine point soldering iron as the pads were quite small.
The board quality was excellent and I got a handful of useful components for experimenting too. Having soldered it all up and followed the setup tutorial I now have the Blink example running and I'm planning my next project. I have a mini breadboard handy and I think this will come in handy for the next few example circuits.
I'm not sure what more you could possibly expect for the money!”
