“I recently purchased the Unicorn Diffuser Kit (Panel Only) from Pimoroni, which was a significant boost for my project. I spent hours searching for a reseller of these specific "Black and LED" panels. The original manufacturer, Chemcast (Opti-K), is located in Mexico and doesn't sell directly, making shipping to Italy very costly. Finding them at Pimoroni finally made this specialised material accessible.
The panel is a breakthrough for artistic LED projects. When LEDs are off, it appears as a solid black surface, but when lit, it allows light to pass through with beautiful diffusion. Although still somewhat expensive for its size (hence 4 stars), and I would like to source custom sizes and larger quantities for the final product, it's an excellent compromise for prototyping.
Despite the cost, it dramatically improves the look of my dynamic lamp. Proper placement hides the "hotspots" of the NeoPixels while maintaining vibrant colours, giving the project a professional, high-end appearance and enabling some "special" effects.
Currently, it's the best option for creators in Europe seeking that "hidden LED" effect without the cost of overseas shipping (though options and prices could still improve).”
