“The Inventor Hat Mini is a critical part of my robotic gripper. Offloading all the io and encoder counting was a great choice and let me organize all the control into a python profgram on the Pi. It's absolutely worth the cost. Great design and a good library to go with it.
As for what I would change. I don't like cutting a trace in order to power the pi seperately from the motors. I think that use case could have a more refined design, but it does let you give your motors more juice while you power your pi from a cleaner and seperate 5v supply”
“I cannot really say much about the Inventor HAT Mini as it currently doesn't work on a Raspberry Pi 5 (it's a complicated issue that affects lots of Hats and Bonnets from a range of different manufacturers). I have been in contact with customer support and their technical teams are working hard to update the software for lots of their products so it will work on a Pi5 in due course.”
“Excellent product. You hold the Inventor HAT Mini in your hand, you will start getting creative ideas about how to use it.
And there is a lot of fun in this small product. It will take time to learn all of its capabilities and tricks.
Good value for money.”
