Another raspberry pi product to keep me busy during lockdown. Many possibilities of things to try at very low cost.

Amazing for someone without a soldering iron. Already in my Pico explorer and coding away like a champ (imo anyway).

The pico is a wonderful device, it is small but also offers everything you would need from a micro controller. The programing interfaces can vary from low level (C/C++) to high level (MicroPython/CircuitPython) which is good because it provides a place for people like me, who are pretty new to programming and just want to make fun projects but also people who want more control over what the pico does. I live in Northern Ireland and the shipping was fast despite the current situation and because of that I even ordered a second product from Pimoroni. Overall great service and I recommend them for any purchase.

Very very convenient for those of us that are not very accomplished solderers. I actually purchased this after botching a header soldering job on a headerless pico - and it made life a lot easier. If you don't own a soldering iron - this is very cost effective. As far as the Pico goes - it's a cool little board, and it's just nice to be able to connect a bare-metal headless computer to the usb socket, and literally sip the power. 264KB is generous for a microcontroller, but it's also a fun challenge for larger projects to fit in 1000x less memory than even the Raspberry Pi 1. I love that this can be mounted on all the other cool addon boards, and this particular board will be driving a VGA display - with the help of the Demo VGA board - also from pimoroni.
