Nice little pHAT, it works great as a screen for a music player. Also the buttons are a very welcome addition.

First, great service from Pimoroni. Second, great piece of hardware, tailored to a specific need. I used the Pirate Audio Line-out option. Third, software and application support made things so easy.

Sound is great. Setup is a bit difficult but I think that is due to a transition to 3.0 on volumio.

I like these running Mopidy/Iris, it’s easy to set up and works great. I use it in my basement workshop and can stream music or load files to play. I notice the line out version has a fairly hot signal but no hi gain/ lo gain switch like the headphone version, but I just backed off the input gain on my powered speakers.

Sounds great with my JBL 305P powered studio monitors. I had been running a Pi3 and then a Pi4 with another DAC and decided to try the Zero 2 W with Pirate Audio. I bought both a line-out and a 3W amp version (for another project). I had problems at first, but Pimoroni had excellent customer service. I was worried too because I was buying from the US. It turned out really well and I'm very happy with the sound. The whole Zero 2 W + Pirate Audio + USB SSD is tiny and begs to have a case made for it. The display is pretty enough that I know that I'll want to highlight it when I build it. I used the directions right from the Pimoroni website and was up and running, complete with album art, very quickly.
