“Powerful fan that comes dissasembled. No clear instructions in the pack, so a little guess work is needed, but works overall. Cools the board like crazy and not TOO loud. Only issue is the fact you'll need a GPIO riser if you want to put on a HAT, but a small price to pay. Very satisfied!”
Ahoy! Sounds like you're sorted, but we've got a tutorial for assembling the Fan Shim here: https://learn.pimoroni.com/tutorial/sandyj/getting-started-with-fan-shim
“Great little fan, quiet, compact and easy to assemble and fit. Even the guides to install the python script were easy to follow. Would be better if it came with a little heatsink to sit between the fan and CPU, but otherwise an essential purchase for the Raspberry Pi 4!”
“It's working as expected, but if it were me
1) i would go for metal screws
2) I would offer more than one fan in the package, just in case as a replacement.
Otherwise, it's a great product.”
“The fan is the most exciting component after the Pi.
the scripts to start/stop it are cool.
Maybe, I would miss a GUI for that script, easier to configure or change parameters, but excellent.
It keeps the mainboard cooler than usual with no fan.
I will do a few holes on the side of the original case to allow the ventilation flow.
But excellent fan. 100% recommended”
