“Shipped fast and went together in a jiffy too. Very simple modification which makes a huge difference to the Raspberry Pi 4 which appears to throttle on any sort of load. This Raspberry Pi 4 is the "Smart" on the back of a "Dumb" TV and was constantly throttling at a stressfully high 80° or more much of the time it streamed video etc. The CPU temperature now oscillates gently between the thresholds suggested by Pimoroni in the Fan SHIM setup with the only indication that it is there being an almost inaudible fan sound and occasionally the RGB LED changing colour.

“Installation was easy with the online instructions. The FanShim did a difference in temperature when it worked, but unfortunately it died after 2 months of use in my Pi 3B+ (which I use as a Pi-Hole). This suggest to me that the fan is not of the best quality. For a similar price, you can get the Noctua NF-A4x20 which gives better performance.”
