The fan shim works well and is effective at cooling the rpi4. The provided software again works well and is useful as running the fan only when required is a bonus. However, the LED seems to not ever work as specifed as I suspect the pins do not make adequite connection to the fan shim board, with the only way I could get that functionality to work was to move the fan shim around which is less the desirable. Overall a good product, but annyoning that not everything works to specification as the LED output would be useful to see the temprature.

Significantly simpler to use than many other small electronics fans, and its form factor make it fit a wide variety of cases. Gives ample cooling even for an overclocked (2,147gHz) RPi 4B, which idles at about 40-45 degrees and stress tested at ~70 maximum on a 28 degree day. Cooling wasn't quite as significant as a slightly larger 40mm fan that I had been using, but the form factor is much better and the cooling is still well below the throttling threshold under load. Great fan.

Very neat, effective, and easy to install. Just need to get my head around the "script" needed to allow the fan to work automatically.

RPi 4 (4GB) barely goes above 55°C with this very quiet fan running. The push button, RGB LED and Python library are welcome additions. Had some fun making my own Python script that changes LED colour from blue below/at 40°C, then going through green (at 47.5°C) to Red at/above 55°C (with user input to controll brightness). I can now tell the temp of my Pi to within a degree (maybe 2) just from looking at the LED. This is exactly why I own a RPi, to practice / learn coding. After several months the fan became very loud, however Pimoroni responded immediately and are sending a replacement straight away.

Perfect active cooling for the Raspberry Pi. Additionally, its not that noisy compared to other fans. This helps in keeping the Raspberry Pi temperatures low. I was surprised that the installation manual was missing in the box. Turns out the manual was on their website. Great way to save paper and our planet. The installation instructions were clear and there was an extra screw for backup in the box. It even has a neat switch that controls the fan.
