“It's a very handy little fan designed to fit with any version of raspberry pi. You just have to fit it to the power end of the IO pins, no soldering, no wires hanging and you are good to go. The fan is absolutely quiet and smoothly cools the CPU. The best feature I found about this is that you can fix another hat module on top of the GPIO s after fixing the fan. There is a microswitch to boot the pi and that's an additional feature. The function of the RGB led must be something which I have to wait and see.
Unfortunately there was something wrong with my FAN SHIM and I didn't see the RGB led coming and let me tell you that pimoroni is so kind to make a refund and send me another fan absolutely free + free of shipping charges.

“Thoroughly recommended for anyone using Raspberry Pi 4 for CPU-intensive tasks. I run some DSP software and even with the largest passive sink I could throw at it after about 2 minutes my Pi 4 CPU temperature used to reach 80C, resulting with CPU throttling. Now the Fan SHIM kicks in and keeps it at safe 60C (give or take).
Installation was very easy, it took me less than 5 minutes (including the software portion), thanks to excellent online documentation.”
