“Work nicely and the lights are bright. I just bought an extra set to act as a pin cover to prevent my fingers touch the pins. Because that may cause a reboot!”
“My original Blinkt (part of a Pi Zero starter pack) was faulty but I was very impressed by pimoroni staff and other users, active on Twitter and in the forum, who were very helpful to try to eliminate user error.
Ultimately the Blinkt unit was replaced promptly without fuss and little effort on my part.
I'm looking forward to learning about programming with my kids and this bright little thing seems a fun way in.”
“Works like a charm, with no effort! Note that it takes up all the GPIOs (probably not using most of them), but it fits perfectly on any modern Pi, including the Zero.”
“This Blinkt device was great fun! I got it as part of the Pimoroni Raspberry Pi Zero W starter
kit - the one with the Pibow case. It meant I could straight away produce something exciting with my Pi Zero, especially as the Python library supplied was so full of examples. Some of the examples were beyond me but others were really easy to adapt. It made my early programming attempts successful and exciting. The price is excellent, the LEDs bright, and the whole thing very easy to use. I'm now very tempted to get the LED shim - 28 rgb LEDS would be even better!”
“A cheap, but quality product, which I used for colour-coded notifications on my Zero and 3B. I would have preferred diffused LED lenses, but I'm guessing that would sacrifice brightness. At low brightness levels, the red green and blue LED elements are clearly visible while working near to the Pi. Nevertheless, that's a minor quibble, as I'm delighted with the product.
A possible tip for David M. above, and perhaps others: I experienced the same colour balance issues if "set_brightness" was anything other than 1, so ensure that you have "blinkt.set_brightness(1)" somewhere.”
