“I love these cases, very robust and fantastic colours.
After you buy one you will want another for the next Raspberry Pi you buy.
The SD card is enclosed in this case so if that is something you are looking at for extra security”
“In general this is a nice case that looks to protect the zero nicely.
I have 3 complaints about the overall product
#1 (most important) - The yellow layer does not avoid all components on the board, but sits on some small resistors around U3. This causes the yellow platen to bow away (upward) from the corners and puts unnecessary strain on the components. Screw the plate too hard and you might actually do damage...
#2 - Blocked microSD card slot. Not a killer, but I change my SD cards frequently based on what I am working on so this now requires disassembly each time I want to change images.
#3 - Non ESD plastic in direct contact with the circuitry, I get it you want cheap, you cut corners. While this won't likely impact the average user, it is still just good practice to use ESD plastics immediately against the circuitry, they are not that much more expensive in volume purchasing
Nice to have
It would be great if you were to include the missing headers as part of the package, saves 1 more thing to buy. Even better would be stackable 2x40, but that may be asking too much here...?”
“...on Thingiverse like you did for Modell B ( http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:33443 )?
I just bought a Zero from you and would like to modify your "base-design" to my needs.
Thank you in advance ;-)”
“This case is a beauty, looks good and i love the design and accessability of the ports.
Only downsides are the blocked micro sd slot, which i can live with, BUT the Pibow plate #2 which sits on the pcb does not fit.
That bends the upper plate and puts tension on two supermicro smd parts near "U3". But with a rotary tool this can be easily fixed.
The smd parts for which you would have to mill a pocket in plate#2 are at, if you put the pcb infront of you, so you can read the labels, are at the ten o'clock position from "U3" and another one at 10 o'clock from the active led. They smd components are the tiny ones mounted horizontally. (Resistor from active led and a capacitor and a resistor at U3)”
“Recently got the case it is great fun to put together and extremely elegant it also is very nice looking and allows you to access all the areas of the pi zero you may later want to connect to. It is also clear to see all the components of the pi and has room to easily expand and put things on the raspberry pi.”
“Love the look of this case! Super sleek and small, and with easy access to everything I need. Luckily I don't need to be able to remove the SD card, but the lack of access to that is the only potential gripe I've come across.”
“This case is great - it's really well designed, looks great, and protects the Pi Zero really well too. The instructions provided are really well written and detailed, and assembling it is pretty easy. The fact that it's made from 3mm PMMA also means that it's really easy to hack, cut, and drill if you need to.
Just take care when assembling, as the thin layer is easy to snap when removing the backing (I snapped mine!). Another bonus would be being able to put the SD card in and out without removing the case, but I imagine that this is more meant for embedded applications than development.”
