There's nothing more fun to program than a bunch of cool blinkies, and this is perfect for that. I had some tech questions and the Pimoroni guys were quick to respond with some helpful answers, thanks!

Today I got my hands on the awesome little Unicorn Hat for the Raspberry Pi. I'm not a backend developer, but the python examples made it quick and easy for me to figure out how to get started. With a bit of googling and pasting, I soon had my own examples up and running. The whole thing worked perfectly and when they say these LED's are bright they are not kidding. I'm really quite surprised the examples don't operate on a lower brightness setting by default because I nearly lost my eyesight to a rainbow ;-) Can't wait now to learn more python and get my unicorn hat doing something useful!

Top quality Raspberry Pi HAT, very bright and easy to use. After downloading the libraries and making a start with some python scripts, I now have mine controllable from a web interface allowing me to see the current state and turn on or off my unicorn scripts. I highly recommend this HAT, just keep the brightness down as this can be blinding on full power.

It's so bright!! Got this just in time for some festive blinky projects (my son wants a countdown to Xmas display, I want to build a naughty-o-meter to keep him on track before the big man visits). Downloading the libraries and example code was extremely easy (thank you!) and within a few minutes I had rainbows dancing all over the front of my Pi. A quick glance through the examples showed some easy to understand code so I reckon even I should be able to get my projects up and running in no time.
