“Good value for money. Quick to get up and running. Would be a cost-effective way to use lots of sensors via one or two docks.
BUT, the colour sensor comes in a mauve colour which affects the sensor readings. All the readings are tinted mauve. This is even worse if you try to mount the sensor behind something, e.g. to sense through a hole in a display screen. This colour sensor should be coloured WHITE, so that it helps with the sensing rather than hindering.
Also, it would be helpful if the micro-connector (to the dock) was mounted on the underside, so that a flush fitting on a display screen could be achieved.
Note: you can use this sensor directly with Processing3 (in the same way as displaying Arduino output). You don't need to use flotilla-python. The format of the serial output from the flotilla is:
"u dockPort/sensorType redVal,greenVal,blueVal,clearVal". For example:
"u 5/colour 174,121,132,405". Values are stated to be in the range 0-44032, but I haven't seen them above about 2000 .”
