“We bought the mega treasure chest for our son's 8th birthday and it's been great (he already had a pi3 to plug it into). We have given him a bit of help getting going and building the line following robot (some fiddly screws and nuts for an 8 Yr old), but he is getting the hang of rockpool and making his own rules now. I... ahem... *He can't wait to start building it into lego projects. Integration with python and scratch should keep it relevant and interesting for him for a long time.
It would also be nice to see a few more examples to inspire younger users with using rockpool rather than just plugging a few modules in and pressing run :)
The only fly in the ointment was that it was reduced by 40% less than two weeks after we got it. Yaarrrr! Still a fantastic product though!”

“I love this kit. I received it for my birthday two months ago and have built a skittles sorter, a robot and many of the suggested builds. It is incredibly simple and fun to use. Rockpool the starter control software is excellent and is simple to read sensors and control motors. My only fault was that the nose piece of the robot was damaged and therefore broke when I used it. However, I still gave this 5 stars as after I contacted Pimoroni, and sent an image of the broken part, I got a new one in the post a couple of days later! An excellent product sold by an excellent company.”
“I got my mega chest through the Kickstarter and have had a lot of fun playing with the kit, making the robot and playing with the sensors. Rockpool makes it really easy to tinker and now the Cookbooks are live, there's even more fun on offer for the first dip of the toes into the endless possibilities of what can be. I set up one of my students (I'm a Science teacher) with the kit to use the colour sensor in a project and she understood how it worked and programmed what she needed in two minutes. I've just ordered a second dock since it will give me flexibility to build multiple projects from the mega treasure chest at the same time (it might also mean my niece and nephew can *each* have a go when they visit).”
