I needed a couple of new micro:bits after my wife nicked my v1 ones to create a free/busy indicator for her home office to stop me disturbing her conference calls while she's stuck wfh.
The v2s are brilliant and the new features are as seamlessly accessible from the MakeCode GUI as you would expect. The onboard sound is really useful for alerts and alarms and such like.
