“Pros - the player is tiny and can be housed inside the project I am working on. And it is surprisingly powerful for its size!
Cons - I have searched relevant websites and forums and tried to reprogramme the player to not announce "music" whenever it powers up, but I have not been able to... this is quite annoying as I just want it to play my chosen sounds.
Any help or assistance would be greatly appreciated!”
“If you are familiar with the DFPlayer mini, this is such a great upgrade. The only bugbear is the voice prompts at every power on, which for some reason the manufacturers defaulted to On. After some research I found you can turn the prompts off with an Arduino UNO and the software serial sketch in the ide examples.
Once connected it’s just a case of sending an AT+PROMPT=OFF in the serial monitor and glorious silence on power up. Would have been 5* otherwise”
“An excellent device once you get it working. I guess if you use it connected to a microprocessor it would be easier, but I wanted to use it stand-alone, just using the ADKEY interface to start it playing. Documentation is standard Chinese minimalist and ambiguous, but numerous conversations with DFRobot themselves proved very helpful and it now works a treat - I will be buying more.”
“This is an excellent board at a fantastic price, combined with the 3 inch speaker it has provided a simple and reliable audio count down timer for my model yacht racing club.”
“This mp3 player is great and easy to use. Good volume with the built-in amplifier and 3" speakers. I have not yet connected it to a microcontroller, but have used the ADKey inputs. Works well and so easy to control with simple push buttons.”
