“A really fantastic module, most notable for its 2.5A output, which is huge compared to similar modules. Many modules of this size max out at 1-2A at MOST whereas this one can output enough power to power a surprising amount of things. Honestly fantastic and a bargain at the price,”
“These work as far as powering a device, but they don't work for keeping the system up during a power outage. I was hoping to use these to keep some sensors running while swapping bigger USB battery packs as the primary power source, but when you unplug the primary power source (leaving the other Li-ion battery obviously), the device reboots (RP Zero W).
If you just need whatever powered by a battery and don't mind reboots during power loss, its OK, but if you need it to keep things running on that battery without interruptions, no so good.
P.S. I also had issues getting some 3.7v 4000mAH batteries working at all, but I suspect its a problem with polarity on the china shipped batteries...”
“I'm sure this would be great in some applications but the USB Vout socket got in the way for my project. When I tried to desolder this, the board stopped working (I think due to the chip overheating) - I'm going to try again with the Adafruit PowerBoost 1000 Basic which has empty Vout pins. Despite my experience, this board seems well made and functioned well in my initial tests.”
“Without doubt this is the perfect solution if you need to add a battery to your Pi project (or anything that uses USB) Just plug in a lipo pack and it works to both charge and power. No messing with power specs, no messing with extra boost circuits. Just plug in and problem solved.”
“Great stuff for a portable Raspberry Pi solution. It is very convenient you could grab your Pi from one location to another location without restart.
This one won't restart your Pi if you sudden plugin in power source!
Try lots of portable charger or Pi's lithium battery powered solution, Pi powers off if you plug or unplug the power in/out to the charger.”
