“I purchased this to use the advertised HID mode. I've messed around with it quite a bit but can't get that to work with PC or Android Phone. I've used the Bluefruit module successfully before and that works beautifully, but I was hoping this very small and neat module would be superior.”
“You can not send the BLE module to sleep, but what is even worse: you can not send the processor to sleep as well.

I've used it from a 3v CR2032 button cell connected to 5v (not Vin) and it all works fine
including bluetooth.
Open air range may be 50m, but obviously indoors is worse - it works through a single wall for me though.”
“Very nice, teeny tiny bit of kit, and very cheap.
Only cons are it's 5v operating voltage, and lack of a sleep mode, which combined drain batteries rather fast. And if you need a big battery, an arduino the size of an SD card is less handy!
Oh, and 50m seems a tad ambitious range wise - it doesn't reach a phone in my pocket from the top of a rucksack!”
